The Karma GS-6's plug-in hybrid engine provides a longer electric range than any other plug-in vehicle. It also has a sleek appearance and is swift and athletic, but not as much as some other luxury sedans in this price bracket. The GS-6 also has a small cabin and little cargo room. A completely charged battery will give an EPA-estimated 61 miles of guilt-free driving, which is about double the range of a standard plug-in hybrid. Following that, a three-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine from BMW takes over. According to the EPA, the gas engine acts as an onboard generator, converting its power to electricity and expanding its range to 330 miles. The GS-6 is certainly intriguing, and there's something appealing about possessing something so unique. However, given the car's numerous flaws, it is a somewhat perplexing buying decision.
