VinFast: The Rising Star of Vietnam’s Automotive Industry

It was created in 2017 in Hi Phng and is a subsidiary of Vingroup, one of the biggest private conglomerates in Vietnam and the brainchild of Phm Nht Vng. It is the first Vietnamese automaker to enter international markets and the first to start manufacturing electric vehicles (EVs), including electric automobiles and electric scooters.

VinFast's Quick Development and Success

Pham Nhat Vuong launched VinFast to build a Vietnamese auto brand that can compete with major international players. Since its founding in 2017, VinFast has produced three vehicles with Pininfarina design and BMW technology. With the help of middle-class consumers, it rose to become the fourth-best-selling brand in Vietnam. The three electric scooters that VinFast also introduced received excellent reviews from ASEAN NCAP.

By 2025, VinFast hopes to have a one million-unit annual manufacturing capacity and be the world's leading manufacturer of smart electric vehicles.
